Played this beautiful song for my mama over the summer right after we found out about her cancer. She asked me to calligraph it & hang it up by her bed so she could see it every day. . So much in my life has changed since May and I haven’t had a desire to pick up my brush pens. Honestly, I am okay with that. I know inspiration will come back when it’s time. My presence in this space will likely look different for a while. And if you, my friend, find yourself in a season where you just can’t seem to pick up your pen...I hope you know that it’s okay. . It’s okay to take your time. It’s okay to breathe and step back. It’s okay to take a break, step back, and rest. You are not a failure. You are a human. And you are so loved. You know what’s best for you. 💗

It’s been a while and I think I’m finally ready to let you all in on my life recently. On May 26th, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and she passed away on June 30th. Since then, my world has been on pause. . I am lucky to have had the best relationship I can even imagine with my sweet mama. The 25 years that I had with her were some of the most treasured memories I will ever have. I miss her every single day and truly believe that no time would have been enough with her. . To those of you who are on here and going through your own difficult season, I hope that you know that you are not alone. You are loved- even when it doesn’t feel like it. You are seen- even when you feel forgotten. You are meant to be here- even when it feels hopeless. . For those of you who possibly know someone who has recently gone through something difficult, reach out to them. It’s better to say something than nothing. Sometimes when people we love go through something we don’t understand we can feel paralyzed. That’s totally normal. But fight against it- start with “I’m thinking of you”. The smallest gestures mean so much when your world turns upside down. You have a chance to make an impact- don’t let fear stand in your way! . I’m so grateful for the people in my life who have pushed through and sought me out in the last few months. I know it’s not easy- but they decided it was worth it. And I am praising God for showing me His love through their simple acts of obedience. What a great God that he lets us be a part of His work. 💗
